FAQ

Common questions about using apys, security, and how your funds are handled.

Custody & access

Can apys access or move my funds?

No. apys is non-custodial — it never has access to your private keys. Every transaction must be signed by your wallet. apys builds the transaction, you approve it. Without your signature, nothing moves.

What if apys goes offline?

Your funds sit in the underlying protocol smart contracts (Kamino, Jupiter, Loopscale, etc.), not in apys. You can access them directly through each protocol's own interface, or through any Solana wallet that supports those protocols.

Can I withdraw my funds at any time?

Yes. apys provides a withdraw function, and you can also withdraw directly through the protocol's own interface. There are no lockup periods imposed by apys. Some underlying protocols may have their own withdrawal conditions — apys shows you these details before you deposit.

Fees & costs

Does apys charge fees?

apys does not currently charge any platform fees — no management fees, performance fees, or withdrawal fees. You pay only the standard Solana network transaction fees (typically fractions of a cent) and any swap fees charged by Jupiter's routing (usually 0.1–0.3%). Platform fees may be introduced in the future as apys matures; any change will be announced in advance and shown clearly before you confirm any transaction.

Are there hidden costs?

No hidden costs. Some protocol deposits require a small amount of SOL for on-chain account creation (typically ~0.01 SOL for rent-exempt account setup). This is a Solana network requirement, not a apys fee, and the SOL is reclaimable when you close the account.

Allocation & matching

How does the matching work?

apys filters every eligible pool using a transparent formula based on APY, volatility history, utilization rates, and the risk parameters you set. Pools must pass minimum thresholds (TVL, audit status, active protocol) before being included in your match set. The pools that satisfy your parameters are returned with diversification limits applied to prevent over-concentration in any single protocol or token.

Can I choose specific pools myself?

No. apys returns a diversified allocation based on the parameters you set — you don't pick individual pools. However, you can change your parameters (risk tolerance, capital) at any time to get a different match set. You see the full breakdown before confirming any transaction.

Are APY rates guaranteed?

No. APY rates in DeFi are variable and change based on market conditions, protocol usage, and token demand. The rates shown are current at the time of your deposit but will fluctuate. apys monitors for significant changes and updates data every 12 hours.

Security & trust

What wallet do I need?

apys works with any Solana wallet — Phantom, Backpack, and others. Connection is handled through Privy, a widely-used wallet authentication layer. Your wallet connects in read-only mode until you approve specific transactions.

Has apys been audited?

apys does not deploy its own smart contracts — it builds standard Solana transactions that interact directly with audited protocol contracts. This means the security surface is the protocols themselves, all of which have been independently audited. See the Protocols page for audit details.

What happens if a protocol gets hacked?

If an underlying protocol experiences a security incident, funds deposited in that protocol could be affected. apys mitigates this by only integrating with audited protocols, enforcing diversification across multiple protocols, and monitoring for anomalies. However, this risk cannot be fully eliminated in DeFi.

Data & privacy

What data does apys store about me?

apys stores your public wallet address to associate your positions. It does not store private keys, seed phrases, or personal information beyond what's needed to display your active positions. All on-chain data is public on Solana by nature.

What third-party services does apys use, and what do they collect?

  • Privy — handles wallet authentication. If you connect using email or social login (instead of a wallet directly), Privy may collect that identifier. See Privy's privacy policy for details.
  • PostHog — provides product analytics. apys sends usage data (page views, feature usage) to understand how the product is used.
  • Helius — provides Solana RPC access. Transaction data routed through apys passes through Helius infrastructure as part of normal blockchain operations.
  • DeFiLlama — provides aggregated pool and protocol data feeds. No user data is shared with DeFiLlama.

Can I use apys without sharing any data?

You can connect a self-custody wallet directly (without email or social login) to minimize data shared with Privy. Anonymized analytics are still collected by default — a future setting will allow opt-out.

Eligibility & jurisdictions

Who can use apys?

apys is intended for users in jurisdictions where DeFi protocols are not restricted. Use of apys may be restricted or unavailable in jurisdictions subject to comprehensive economic sanctions or where DeFi access is prohibited by local law.

You are responsible for confirming that your use of apys complies with all applicable laws in your jurisdiction. If apys is not available in your location, you should not use the platform.

For specific restricted jurisdictions, see our Terms of Service.

About $BUZZ

What is $BUZZ?

$BUZZ is a memecoin, or community token, that originated in the early days of Hive Labs. It is not a product feature, is not required to use apys, and confers no rights, returns, or benefits. Holding $BUZZ is not an investment in Hive Labs or its products, and any market value of $BUZZ is independent of Hive Labs's operations.

Getting started

What's the minimum deposit?

Minimums vary by protocol — some accept as little as $0.01, others require $1–10. apys handles this automatically and won't include pools where your allocation would fall below the protocol's minimum.

Do I need SOL in my wallet?

Yes, a small amount of SOL is needed for Solana transaction fees (typically a few cents). If you're depositing SOL, apys will swap it to the required tokens. If some protocols need account creation, apys will show you the SOL required before you approve.
